The New York Yankees unveiled an ambitious $1.2 billion renovation plan for Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, promising to modernize the 17-year-old venue while preserving its iconic character. The project will be completed in phases over three offseasons beginning after the 2026 World Series.
Key improvements include an expanded concourse with 40 percent more food and beverage options, a retractable roof structure, upgraded luxury suites, and enhanced accessibility features throughout the facility. The playing field and seating bowl will remain largely unchanged.
Owner Hal Steinbrenner emphasized that the renovation would be privately funded and would not require public financing. The team plans to play all home games at the stadium during construction, with major structural work limited to the offseason months.
